How we cut a client’s checkout time in half

A store we worked with was losing buyers at the worst possible moment — the checkout. Here's the short version of how we made it twice as fast, and what it did to their numbers.

The problem

The checkout took over 6 seconds to become interactive on mobile. Every one of those seconds was quietly costing sales.

What we changed

The result

Time-to-interactive dropped from ~6s to under 3s, and the client saw a meaningful lift in completed checkouts — same traffic, more revenue.

Speed isn't a vanity metric. On a checkout, it's money.
